Shanghai, China (May 9, 2011) – Vanguard Logistics Services is pleased to announce the Shanghai warehouse has relocated to a larger facility due to customer demand.

The upgraded warehouse is well equipped to handle all Vanguard customers' needs regarding size, security, the ability to handle diverse cargo types and its prime location. "Our customer base in China continues to grow and Vanguard must expand its facilities in order to meet and exceed the needs of our customers," commented Charles Brennan, CEO.

 

The new warehouse has a total area of 35,000 sqm, an in-house area of 13,000 sqm and an all-shielded cargo unloading area of 5,600 sqm. The secure facility is equipped with a top of the line video monitoring system that includes rotating video monitors in the loading area for easy viewing of container loading in real time. An alarm system and pulse electric fence surrounding the facility provide added security for customers' cargo.

 

Among the service advantages offered at Vanguard's Shanghai warehouse is its competent ability to work with multiple cargo types. A 45-ton Reach stacker and 16 units of 3-ton and 7-ton fork lifts are available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year and capable of packing consol containers of 2,000~2,500 TEU monthly. "A full-container packing service is available to move 1,000 TEU monthly at this location and 27 exclusive contracted container trucks are available to move over-limit cargo," noted Michael Tsui, VLS East Asia Regional Vice President – Commercial Services.

 

Vanguard Shanghai warehouse is located at 5178 Huadong Road, Chuansha, Pudong, Shanghai. It is in close proximity to the two major port areas of Shanghai – 25km to Waigaoqiao port and 90km to Yangshan port. "The warehouse is conveniently located to provide Vanguard customers ease of accessibility," commented Haydn O'Brien, Regional Managing Director - East Asia.
